Retention

v-braces3Dr. Glass along with his friendly staff takes pride in providing patients in the Daphne, Bay Minette and Atmore areas with premier orthodontic care. That is why the retention phase after braces are removed is taken very seriously at Glass Orthodontics. If you have any questions about the retention phase of treatment, we are always available to address them if you contact one of our offices.

When Does This Phase Begin?

When Dr. Glass removes your braces, we will begin the retention stage of your treatment. The retention phase will last for a minimum of 12 months. “Why is the retention phase important?” you ask. Whenever you don’t want to put in your retainer, we urge you to remember the many months that you spent in braces, whether they were traditional metal braces, clear braces or Invisalign. If the retention phase isn’t taken seriously, all of the time spent in braces could be wasted if teeth start to shift. Remember to keep your retainer in unless you are eating, brushing or flossing!
